Features of such an aircraft

• It can take off and land vertically
• I can use the drone's camera to fly the plane FPV
• Control of the plane
  • speed up either the top two or bottom two motors to pitch the plane down or up
  • speed up the right two or left two motors to turn the plane to the left or right
  • speed up either diagonal pair of motors to impart a change in the angular momentum of the plane and make it roll
• There is no need for any servos or long wiring in the wings or tail because everything is controlled by the change in speed of the motors on the drone

This is a design concept I created but didn’t actually bring to fruition. The idea is to build a model plane and attach my drone to the front of it to provide both the thrust and control for it.

Materials

• The wings and vertical and horizontal stabilizers will likely be made out of foam board because it is light and reasonably stiff
• 1/2in square wooden dowels can be used to brace the wing
• A 1in square wooden dowel can serve as the fuselage and backbone of the plane
• Many 3D printed parts
  • to connect the drone to the plane fuselage
  • to connect wing bracing dowels to the fuselage and to the wing
  • to connect each side of the wing to the other (I'd like to make the wings removable for easy transport)
  • to connect the vertical and horizontal stabilizers to the fuselage
