Long story short: I have a page in my Notion for each of my friends, and I made printed out versions of these pages as gifts. They have a bunch of info about them including quotes, and notable days from my journal that has been built up over time.

You can think of it as Spotify Wrapped, but for my relationships in Notion. Or when you request that a company export and send you all the data it has on you, but for my relationships in Notion.

So my Notion… Gets deep. There are three database that make up a substantial backbone my Notion.

🖇️ Pages database

This is my home for various miscellaneous pages. If a page doesn’t have a clear encapsulating page, then it goes here. It includes pages like “Career”, “Rock climbing”, “Organization”, “Veganism”, “VaJeLydIanator”, etc.

📗 Journal database

I journal every day. I write any dreams I had, content from the day, and at least three things I am grateful for. See my journal analytics here: Journal Analytics

🫂 Relationships database

This database of people includes a wide scale of people including friendships, professional relationships, romantic relationships, someone I met once at an acro yoga jam, etc.

These three database work together in a surprising and (in my opinion) awesome way. The database are linked to each other through relational properties. Specifically, the journal database is individually linked both to the pages database and the relationship database.

So, each of my friends has a Notion page in my relationships database, and connected to each of them are the many journal entries which I tagged them in and in which the played a large role. Because I also label some days that are particularly significant, these labels can be aggregated into a summary for the people as well.

I can also aggregate the other people and pages which were tagged on the same day as this particular friend to give an idea of their role in my life.

1. I have a list of people and their corresponding 32 digit number that is the ID of their page in my relationships database

2. Journal analytics

   1. Parse through >1400 journal entries and keeps track of counts of each of the names over the entries
   2. Creates a graph of each my usage of each person’s first name over my journal entries

3. Selenium WebDriver

   1. Logs in to Notion
   2. Resizes the page appropriately
   3. Iterates through the list of people
      1. Goes to jessegilbert.notion.site/<notion_id>
      2. Takes and saves a screenshot

4. Combines resizes and overlays these two png images and creates a printable pdf
